On the afternoon of 31 August, the "First Lesson" and military training mobilization for the 2026 freshmen of the Palmerston North Institute of Xi'an University (PNI(XAU)) was held in the B1 Lecture Hall, Mingde Building. Executive Dean Bian Peiying presided, with Party General Branch Secretary Yu Hua, Vice Deans Xu Xunlei and Ni Bo, and Counselor Zhao Xin in attendance.

Dean Bian delivered the opening address, encouraging students to make the most of the international platform and set clear goals early. The two vice deans then introduced the study programme and the English-learning support system, helping freshmen understand academic requirements and available resources, and adapt to the international teaching pace.

In her closing remarks, Secretary Yu Hua set out heartfelt expectations, urging students to build strong convictions and study diligently, growing into high-calibre talents with both national commitment and a global vision. Counselor Zhao Xin then covered campus rules and discipline, dormitory safety and military training regulations, and mobilized students ahead of the upcoming training.

The First Lesson served both as an academic orientation and a call to action. The freshmen said they will embrace their studies and the coming military training with full energy, making the most of their years and moving steadily toward their dreams.
